Q:  Wait, March Forth is on March 1st?  Why can’t it just be on March 4th?  That makes more sense.

A: Yes, March Forth is on March 1st this year, because a Tuesday race is too tricky to pull off.  It’s easier to have it on Saturday this time around!**

Q:  Can I pick up someone else’s packet?

A: Yes, we understand life gets busy.  Please send an email to let us know who you’d like to pick up your packet.  VERY IMPORTANT:  you will need to print off and sign a waiver and have your friend bring this to packet pickup in order to get your shirt and bib.  If you are picking up a packet for a minor, please bring the minor waiver form.

Q:  Where is packet pickup?  I keep forgetting.

A: Early packet pickup is at Super Jock ‘n Jill on February 28th, 2014!  That’s a Friday!  All day, from 10am – 8pm.  You can also pick up your packet on race morning starting at 8am at the registration tent at our new start line near the Bathhouse Theater on the west side of the lake.

Q: I wish I could have a sweatshirt instead of a t-shirt.

A: For an additional $20, you can buy a March Forth Fun Run sweatshirt!!  To make the race as affordable as possible, our registration fees include an awesome t-shirt, but you can upgrade to a sweatshirt when you register.

Q: Can we get tech shirts?

A: Yes!  This year the shirts are tech shirts.  You’ve been asking for them, but we needed to find the right shirt.  Comfortable but still a performance shirt.  We think you’ll love these – they’re still soft, but you can run in them!  Quantities are limited so sign up early to make sure you get yours.

Q: I can’t make it to the race, but would like to donate to LLS.

Q:  Where is the start and finish line?

A:  We are starting near the Bathhouse Theater on the west side of the lake!

Q:  Do I have to run?

A:  Of course not!  Walkers are welcome and encouraged.  Strollers are welcome, too.  You can even march if you want, in the spirit of March Forth.

Q:  Can I register day-of-race?

A:  Yes! Day-of-race registration is from 8am to 9:15am at the start line at the registration tent at Greenlake on the west side of the lake, near the Bathhouse Theater.  The price is $35 for day-of registration.  Cash, check, and credit cards accepted.

Q: Can I use my in-skates, skateboard, or scooter in the March Forth Fun Run?

A: No. Runners, walkers, and marchers only.  We ask that families with strollers start at the back of the race pack. Dogs on leashes are welcome.

Q: How do I get to the race?

A: Info about Greenlake and directions can be found here.  There is a parking lot near the theater, but leave yourself plenty of time to park in the surrounding neighborhood as Greenlake can get busy on weekends.

Q: What is the course like?

A: The course will use both the inner and outer path of Greenlake.  The 5k racers will complete one lap, 10k racers complete 2 laps.  There will be one water stop halfway around Greenlake, and one water stop at the end of the race.  5k racers will have a total of 2 water stops, and 10k racers will have 4.  Here is a map!

Q: Is there parking at Greenlake?

A: Not much. There is a parking lot near the theater.  Once that lots fills, you will need to park in the surrounding neighborhood.  We encourage you to ride the bus or your bike to the race.  If you need to drive, we encourage you to carpool and arrive early.

Q:  How long is the 5K Race?

A:  It’s 5 kilometers, which is 3.1 miles.  The 10K is 6.2 miles.

Q:  What happens if I become injured after I enter and cannot participate?

A:  Unfortunately we don’t allow refunds, but if you email us we’ll work with you to figure out a way to transfer your registration to someone who can participate or transfer your entry to another amazing LLS fun run (have you raced at the Good Karma 5k in Seward Park?  Annually held in May).

Q:  Is gear check available?

A:  Yes! Gear check is located by the packet pickup and day-of-race registration area starting at 8:00am. Bags will be available for you to put your belongings in, and all bags must be clearly marked with your bib number. Under no circumstances should you bring valuables, as the March Forth Fun Run cannot be responsible for lost or stolen articles.

Q:  What if it’s rainy?

A:  Well, you’ll get awesome bragging rights if you finish the race and it’s windy, chilly, or rainy outside.  It IS early March. It IS Seattle.  But a little foul weather never stopped us Northwesterners from having fun – so come on out even if it’s drizzly.  I worked so hard to put on this race for you, and I’d miss you so much if you didn’t make it.
